About us
Wayahead Publishing is a family partnership run by John and Veronica Price. We lived for many years in the Portsmouth area and during this time we gained a great love of the Hampshire and West Sussex countryside. In the late 1980's and early 1990's, John wrote rambling and cycling articles and books for The News in Portsmouth, and since then has written several guidebooks for other publishers. In 1996 we moved to the West Country, when the MOD department for whom John was working was re-located to Bristol, and Veronica took up a new teaching post just outside of Bristol. John left the MOD to take up writing and publishing full-time at the end of 1999.

We strongly believe in the therapeutic qualities of simple outdoor activities in today's stressful world, and the need for walking and cycling guide books to be more family-friendly, rather than rambler or cyclist-friendly. It is our aim to enable all family members of all ages and all backgrounds to enjoy these walks and rides. For many of the walks in our books, you do not even need a car, as bus and train information is provided.
