The Bear Museum Of all our treasured childhood possessions it is probably our teddy bear that we hold most dear. The curator of this entrancing museum, Judy Sparrow, started her collection in a charming 18th century house in Dragon Street, Petersfield, in 1981. The number of bears grew so quickly that by 1984 the museum, the first of its kind in Britain, was opened. Today, it is internationally known and the collection includes teddy bears of all ages and sizes.
